Fresh off the heels of High School Musical Jr., the Biggest Little Theatre Company is inviting kids aged six to 16 to audition for its next production, The Addams Family Musical.

Adapted from the best-selling Broadway show and featuring all the classic Addams Family characters, the production promises to be a hilariously spooky time for performers and audiences alike.

“Celebrate the wackiness in every family with our best-selling Broadway musical adapted for middle school-age performers,” the BLTC team said in a release.

The show follows Wednesday Addams, “the ultimate princess of darkness,” as she falls for “a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family whom her parents have never met,” the theatre company said. “Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday's `normal' boyfriend and his parents."

Auditions for The Addams Family Musical will take place this week, providing aspiring young actors with the opportunity to showcase their talent and become part of the production.

Requirements for the first round of auditions include a video submission consisting of a song and a scary story.

The production will be the seventh put on by the Biggest Little Theatre Company since it formed just two years ago.

“With our program, youth will take part in all aspects of putting on a full musical production,” the company said. “From props to costumes to singing and dancing, your child will do it all.”

The program has no registration fees, so any child who wants to take part has the opportunity to do so. Each show will have rehearsals and performances taking place in the outlying areas of Sudbury, making the program more accessible to the children of those communities.

So far, shows have been staged in Azilda, Lively, Hanmer and Garson.

Auditions for The Addams Family Musical close this Saturday (May 18).

Further details about the auditions, the production and the process are available from the FAQ document on the BLTC website at www.bltcsudbury.com/audition.
