A man and woman from St. John’s were arrested Thursday after police seized drugs and weapons from a home.
The Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEUNL), an integrated investigative unit consisting of members from both the RCMP and the RNC, were involved in the investigation.
A 45-year-old man and 43-year-old woman were arrested and are expected to be charged with possession of controlled substances for the purpose of trafficking, in relation to a large quantity of drugs found in the home.
Seized at the residence were:
• 628 prescription pills, including of Ritalin, Zopiclone, Oxycodone and Percocets; • 10 Fentanyl patches; • Small quantity of marijuana; and • $10,000 cash.
Also found were numerous weapons, including:
• Brass knuckles; • Crossbows; • Three bottles of bear spray; • Numerous knives; • Baseball bats; • Metal bars; and • A black replica handgun pellet gun. Both suspects were released to appear in court at a later date.
