Fire on FPSO sparks investigation
An internal investigation is being conducted into a small fire on a Floating Production Storage and Offloading vessel (FPSO).
A release on the website of the Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Petroleum Board says that on Thursday an alarm was raised on the Terra Nova FPSO when fire was detected. A small flame was spotted on an insulation blanket for the lower medium pressure turret swivel due to the creation of an arc in an electrical circuit.
The news release says the flame was extinguished and the circuit was isolated.
There were no injuries.
