BAND HOLDS GALA

The Gower Community Band presents its fall gala concert Sunday at 3 p.m. in the D.F. Cook Recital Hall at Memorial University’s school of music. This annual scholarship concert features concert band classics, light-hearted music, “golden oldies” and exciting new works with the premiere performances of the winning entries in the band’s 2016 Terra Nova Program Composition Competition for young composers in Newfoundland and Labrador. Admission is $20 general and $10 for seniors and students. All proceeds support the band’s scholarships and awards program.
