RCMP investigat­ing dumping of needles, diabetic supplies

BONAVISTA — The Bonavista RCMP detachment is investigat­ing the dumping of diabetic supplies, including used needles, lancets, safety tabs and test strips, in an area off Lance Cove Road in the town. The RCMP said in a news release officers responded to a call around 5:30 p.m. Thursday regarding used needles dumped in an area frequented by pedestrian­s, ATV users and pet owners. The needles were dumped sometime Wednesday night or Thursday. The area was cleaned up with volunteer assistance.
