Langmead shows good stick against Osprey
Cody Langmead of the St. John’s Maple Leafs major midget hockey team is The Telegram sports department’s choice as athlete of the week. Langmead played a big role in helping the Leafs win the Newfoundland and Labrador Major Midget Hockey League championship last weekend with a four-game sweep of the Tri-pen Osprey.
In the series-clinching 7-2 win Sunday, Langmead scored twice after scoring a goal in Saturday’s 3-2 St. John’s win. He exploded for four goals and an assist in a 6-4 Maple Leafs win Friday night.
