Indoor slo-pitch tourney scheduled for next month

It sure doesn’t seem like summer just yet, but slo-pitch softball players can get a few swings in next month at an NSA Softball indoor slo-pitch tournament slated for the Techniplex Field Turf facility in St. John’s.

The co-ed tournament runs on Good Friday, April 14.

The facility will be divided to encompass three ball fields — with shorter base paths — and indoor “training” softballs will be used. The balls are similar to regular softballs, but have a softer core.

The semifinals and final will be played on a larger, regulation-sized field.

Registration is $400 per team, with a guaranteed four games. Already 15 teams have registered.
