Identifying vehicles in three photos
This picture (sent in by Burton Janes, Bay Roberts and taken from a July 1962 issue of Life magazine) is a bit challenging when it comes to identifying the vehicles. called to say that he can identify two Morris Minors and perhaps a Morris 1100. We can certainly identify a Volkswagen “Bug”. We don’t know the make of the double-decker bus! The picture was first published in our April 8th. column. The location is Hong Kong.

PHOTO AT LEFT shows a group of vehicles at a campsite in Labrador. The car in the foreground is a 1967 Karmann Ghia and the blue hardtop is a 1968 Chevrolet. We can’t I.D. the one at the left. Also, there’s a green pickup in front of the Ghia but not
“The 1956 Dodge has been identified as either a Dodge Royal or a Dodge Coronet. These are the American versions of the Dodge. In that year, Dodge had a slightly different lineup in Canada. The models offered here were the Crusader, Regent, Mayflower and the Royal.
“The photo looks like the lower end of the lineup, the Crusader. Incidentally, the Vauxhall line was a British car built for Canada by General Motors and included the Velox, Cresta and the Wyvern and was sold in Newfoundland by Terra Nova Motors.”
