Boy hit by car in Airport Heights area
Injuries not thought to be life-threatening
A young boy was taken to hospital Sunday afternoon after he was struck by a car on Viscount Street in St. John’s.
The incident happened just before 5 p.m. when the boy, thought to be 10 years old, apparently ran into the street in front of the moving vehicle.
Neighbours and passersby lined both sides of the street as Eastern Health paramedics and firefighters from the St. John’s Regional fire department arrived to treat the young victim and place him aboard an ambulance.
The boy’s injuries were not thought to be life-threatening and a witness said he was conscious and speaking to rescue workers on scene. The incident is under investigation by the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary.
