CANADA GAMES CAPTAIN WILL PLAY FOR RYERSON THIS FALL
Katie Joyce, captain of Newfoundland and Labrador’s female Canada Games soccer team, will play for Ryerson University in Toronto next season. A native of Petty Maddoxmaddox Cove, Joyce has been part of the NL Soccer Association’s provincial age-group teams for the past seven years and was a member of the C.B.S. Kirby United women’s team that was runner-up in the Breen’s Jubilee Trophy senior women’s league last season. A student on the principal’s list at St. Kevin’s High and a Yale Young Global Scholar/ Ambassador, Joyce will work towards a Bachelor of Science degree at Ryerson. The Ryerson Rams play in the Ontario University Association (OUA) conference.
