CHRIS COADY CONTRIBUTES TO KARATE BRONZE FOR CANADA
Chris Coady of Flatrock won a bronze medal as part of Canada’s six-member men’s team in the kumite (sparring) competition at the Pan-american senior karate championships, which concluded over the weekend on the Caribbean island of Curacao.
The 18-year-old Coady also competed individually in the kumite 84 kilogram-andunder class and while he did not medal there, his two losses in the division came against the eventual goldand bronze-medal winners. Earlier this spring, Coady was seeded as the top-ranked athlete in Karate Canada’s junior (under-21) kumite listing.
