Atlantic Canada’s first premier startup conference will take place in St. John’s in September, hosted by Memorial University’s Genesis Centre.
Invest Atlantic, in its second year, takes on the goals of collaboration, innovation and globalization, according to a news release. The conference provides learning opportunities with interactive speakers, the chance to connect with angel investors, and opportunities for collaboration with other attendees.
Seasoned entrepreneur and author Alistair Croll, a self-proclaimed tech guru, will be the keynote speaker.
The conference will also feature Pitch Camp, “which invites entrepreneurs to pitch their ideas to a room packed with hundreds of investors, potential partners and seasoned entrepreneurs.”
“If you’re serious about growing your business, Invest Atlantic is where you want to be,” said David Finlayson, event manager for Jameson Group, a founding partner of Invest Atlantic.
“This year’s lineup will blow your mind. We’ve got everyone from Ross Finlay, business and equity finance specialist with the First Angel Network, to Paul Antle, president and CEO of Pluto Investments, to Jill Curran, founder of the Ferryland Lighthouse Picnics. It’s a crosssection of investors, partners and serial entrepreneurs that you won’t often find in one room.”
The conference takes place at the Sheraton Hotel Newfoundland Sept. 1920. For more information, visit www.investatlantic.ca.
