New chair­man, rep­re­sen­ta­tives ap­pointed to Work­pla­cenl board

The pro­vin­cial gov­ern­ment has ap­pointed a new chair and five new rep­re­sen­ta­tives to the Work­pla­cenl board of di­rec­tors.

The ap­point­ments were made through the merit-based ap­point­ment process es­tab­lished by the In­de­pen­dent Ap­point­ments Com­mis­sion (IAC) Act and are ef­fec­tive im­me­di­ately, the prov­ince said in a news re­lease.

The ap­point­ments in­clude chair­man John Ped­dle, worker rep­re­sen­ta­tive Jerry Vink, em­ployer rep­re­sen­ta­tives Vic­to­ria Bel­bin and David Loveys, public rep­re­sen­ta­tive Pat Whalen and in­jured work­ers rep­re­sen­ta­tive Paula Cor­co­ran-ja­cobs.

Greg Pretty has been reap­pointed as the worker rep­re­sen­ta­tive as rec­om­mended by the New­found­land and Labrador Fed­er­a­tion of Labour (NLFL) and Greg Vis­count has been reap­pointed as the em­ployer rep­re­sen­ta­tive as rec­om­mended by the New­found­land and Labrador Em­ploy­ers’ Coun­cil (NLEC). The NLFL and NLEC ap­point­ments are not part of the IAC process.
