It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Kimberly Lynn Babstock Lewis, beloved wife and best friend of Dion Clarence Lewis. Kim was born September 25, 1965 in St. John's, NL to the late Carl and Doreen Babstock. Kim passed away peacefully on September 30, 2017. Kim relocated to Ontario to pursue a successful career in engineerin­g after she obtained her profession­al designatio­n in 2005. Kim served numerous years as a member of the executive for the Associatio­n of Profession­al Engineers of Ontario and devoted countless hours as an executive member with the Durham Communitie­s Foundation, a charity foundation. Kim was a dedicated and loyal Associate at GHD of Whitby, Ontario, where she flourished in the role of Project Manager. Kim was an avid animal lover and loved spending time caring for, playing and hiking with Dory, Duff and Duke, her three yellow Labs. In her spare time she also enjoyed horseback riding, gardening, baking and motorcycli­ng. Kim was an extraordin­ary loving, caring and giving person. Throughout her life she maintained a sweet demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many. Her signature gift of joy, shown through her constant smiling and laughter will never be forgotten. She will be terribly missed by everyone that was lucky to have known and loved her. Kim leaves to mourn her husband Dion Clarence Lewis, sisters Bonnie (Rick) Power and Carol Anne (Dave) Henley and family, brother Craig (Cheryl) Babstock and family, stepmother Jean Howse, stepsister Donna (Fraser) Winsor and daughters, stepbrothe­r Darren Howse (Sarah Gillam and daughter), in-laws Clarence and Agnes Lewis, sisters-in-law Tina and Betti-ann Power and family, Kim's many aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, and countless loyal friends. Kim, we will never forget your infectious laugher, your kind and loving heart and your tremendous spirit. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kimberly's memory can be made to the Epilepsy Society or Humane Society. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Tuesday, October 3rd from 7-9 pm and Wednesday, October 4th from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm.
