Explosives found under cement trucks in Paris
Paris authorities are investigating a possible attempt to blow up cement trucks belonging to a company suspected of striking deals with Islamic State group extremists in Syria.
A police official said six containers of gasoline and an apparent detonator were found Thursday under trucks at a Lafargeholcim cement site in northeast Paris. The official said no one has been arrested, nothing exploded and no one was hurt.
The Paris prosecutor’s office has opened a criminal investigation into an alleged attempt to set a destructive fire, according to a judicial official. Both officials weren’t authorized to be publicly named.
