Lafontaine Club strikes first i n softball final

Lafontaine Club blanked Bay Roberts Coors Light 6-0 in Game 1 of the St. John’s Molson intermediate softball final Thursday night at Lions Park. Game 2 of the best-of-five series goes 8 o’clock Monday night at Lions Park.

Nick Pittman (7IP, 0R, 4H, 4BB, 12K) pitched the win over Johnny Doyle (7IP, 6R, 9H, 5BB, 9K).

Troy Leonard was the offensive catalyst for Lafontaine Club, with three hits, including a triple, and a couple of RBIS. Johnny O’reilly had two hits.
