Trades NL makes $120K contribution to the Gathering Place

-

Trades NL recently announced a four-year, $120,000 contribution on behalf of its members to support the Gathering Place.

“Our board recognizes the struggles that the guests at the Gathering Place face, and the need for shelter, clothing and resources to have a more stable environment. We also recognize the hard work it takes by many volunteers at the Gathering Place. Their work is invaluable, and our organization couldn’t be prouder to offer this 4-year financial assistance commitment,” said Darin King, Trades NL’S executive director.

This contribution will assist the Gathering Place in purchasing food and other items necessary as part of their ongoing programs, and to provide critical on-the-ground supports to those who are less fortunate, especially during the holiday season.

“This past year, we recognize the importance of raising awareness of the profound struggles that our guest’s face, and the need for all of us to share a little kindness,” saidjoanne Thompson, Executive Director, The Gathering Place. “Trades NL’S contribution will enable us to put smiles on many of our guest’s face this Christmas Season and we will be forever grateful for this.”

Trades NL is an umbrella labour organization which promotes and coordinates the interests of 16 building and construction trades unions, their international affiliates, and more than 15,000 trades workers in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador.
