Matthew Manuel Bartlett passed away suddenly at his home in Port Coquitlam, BC on Jan. 28, 2018, at the young age of 43. He is survived by his loving wife Rikki Walsh of 23 years, parents Roy and Nina Bartlett, sister Krista Bartlett, brother-in-law Anthony Farragos, niece Nadia Farragos, nephews Noah and Lucas Farragos and many other family members living in Newfoundla­nd and abroad. Matt was born in St. John's, NL and spent most of his life there. A passion that Matt had from a young age was for sound and music, which led him to work for some years as an audio visual technician. Matt returned to school and graduated as a Mechanical Engineer. He worked for some time in Ontario at the Chalk River Nuclear facility, before moving to British Columbia. Matt took a position with Redflex Traffic Systems where he thoroughly enjoyed his work. Matt had a number of hobbies which included listening to all genres of music as well as collecting a large number of vinyl albums. He had an indepth knowledge of speakers and he designed and built them in his spare time. He also liked to collect antique speakers and reconditio­n them. Cremation will be held for Matthew at the Amherst Funeral and Cremation Services, Port Coquitlam, BC. Condolence­s may be sent to http://www.amherstcre­mation.com/memorial.html.
