Mar. 21, 1929 - Feb.. 6, 2018 Passed away unexpected­ly, but peacefully, in her sleep at the Health Sciences Centre on February 6, 2018. Predecease­d by her husband Fred in 2009, daughterin-law Diane in 2017 and brothers Tom, George, Joe and sister Hazel. Celebratin­g her life and cherishing her memory are her daughter Betty (Chris Hart); sons Fred (Pat), Gordon (Barbara Ann), Bruce (Dawn) and Greg; grandchild­ren Kim (Jeff Sutton), Christophe­r Hart (Chrissy), Michael (Stephanie), Fred, Matthew, Michelle, Deanne (Jeff Bishop), Paul (Cassandra), Bradley, Ryan Taylor, Victoria Fagan and Mathew Fagan (Stacey); great-grandchild­ren Rachel, Mitchell, Kaitlyn, Ryan, Colin, William, Amelia, Christophe­r, Mikayla, Eric, Abbey, Alex, Fredrick, Taylor, Charlotte, Claire and Faith; brother John Roberts (Elaine); sisters Mary Peddle, Matilda Mccarthy, Verna Turberfiel­d, Ethel (Clyde Allan); brothers-in-law Danny Cross, Howard (Linda) and families; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Bertha’s heart was full to bursting with love and pride for her husband and family. She devoted her life to them as well as to many others. She operated a community care home, served as First Lady of Conception Bay South, and welcomed everyone into her home. Bertha's hugs and smiles were a gift given freely; she made each person whose life touched hers feel special and blessed. Visitation in the James J. Hickey Memorial Funeral Home, Kelligrews on February 8th, 2018 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm and on February 9th, 2018 from 10 am - 12 pm, 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm and on February 10th, 2018 from 10 am - 10 pm. Funeral Service in St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Upper Gullies on Saturday, February 10th, 2018 at 2 pm.
