N.L. Family History Society Lecture Ed Wade will present this lecture. Ed is a native of Flatrock who currently lives in St. John’s and works at the Faculty of Education at MUN. His topic is “The History of Flatrock and the History of the Wade Family.” The public is invited to join us at Hampton Hall, Marine Institute. Admission is free and parking is available.

Little Explorers

Come along to Manuels River for an engaging and interactiv­e hour of stories, songs, activities, and play, as we learn about the world around us. $7 per child or free with membership (free for parents/guardians). No pre-registrati­on required. This program is designed for children 2 to 4 years old and their caregivers.

11 a.m.

Active Start Playgroup Parents and caregivers can get active with the little ones at the Paul Reynolds Community Centre. Recreation staff on site to develop physical literacy through active play. $3 per child between ages two and five. Under age two is free.

3:30 p.m.

Afterschoo­l Movie

Join us at Manuels River for the movie “Ice Age” in our comfortabl­e theatre. We’ll provide the popcorn. $5 per person or free for members. No pre-registrati­on required. Children under 11 years old must attend with a parent/guardian. Worms and Dirt Presented by Agricultur­e in the Classroom at Mount Pearl Public Library. The session includes an interactiv­e activity with worms and dirt, and specialist­s who will answer questions about how kids can start their own garden. Intended for children ages 6-11.
