This program at The Rooms is designed for children aged two to four years, and features stories, songs, puppets, games and crafts for children and their guardian. Afterward, head upstairs to The Rooms Café for a complimentary tea or coffee and a chance to visit with other adults. This program is included with the cost of admission.

The weekly crib game in support of Ronald Mcdonald House continues in the basement of St. Teresa’s Church. Admission is $5 per person, with a prize for the winner. We have many people able to teach the game as you go along, so no experience is required. All are welcome for an evening of fun while supporting a good cause.

Story Circle with Michael Boyle Join the St. John’s Storytelling Festival for the March storytelling circle, hosted by Michael Boyle, at the Crow’s Nest Officers’ Club, off Duckworth on the east side of the War Memorial. $5 admission (cash only). Anyone interested in cultivating the traditional art of storytelling is invited to an informal gathering of storytellers and listeners. Every kind of story or recitation can be told as long as it’s by word of mouth, rather than read aloud. We welcome storytellers of all kinds, from professionals to first-timers. Whether you are there to listen, to tell, or to gather up your courage to tell a story, we’d love to see you.

Outdoor maple tapping
Learn how maple syrup is made and how to make your own maple syrup easily at home. This workshop teaches participants how to safely & sustainably tap a maple tree for healthy sap which can be enjoyed straight or boiled down into sweet maple syrup. Any type of maple tree can be tapped in March for your own tasty syrup. Free event. Donations to fund Friends of Pippy Park gladly accepted. Meet at the large parking lot/maintenance yard located just before Pippy Park HQ. Parking is available in the yard and also a short walk away at Pippy Park HQ. The grove is just a few minutes’ walk into the trees from where we meet. Winter footwear is required. Weather permitting.

Nothing On Productions is holding auditions for its spring show - a famous farce (one might say it’s the reason for the company’s existence!) Directed by Janet O’reilly and running at the LSPU Hall May 24th to 27th. Sleep as a Foundation for Health A free public lecture by Dr. Sheila Garland, a clinical psychologist and assistant professor of psychology and oncology at Memorial University. She is the director of the Sleep, Health and Wellness Lab.
