Passed peacefully away at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home in the presence of her loving family, Catherine O’brien of Cape Broyle aged 84 years. Predecease­d by her beloved husband Louis (1998), her parents Douglas and Mary Ellen Mulcahy, brothers Eric, Kenneth, Michael and Edward Mulcahy, sisters Mary Brennan, Josephine Shannahan and Monica Waddleton, son-in-law Kevin Frizzell. Left with fond memories: her daughters, Ruth Frizzell, Irene O’brien, Denise White (Gerard), Diane Tee (Chris); sons, Eric (Ruth), Craig (Darlene), Paul (Linda), Keith (Ellen) and Sheldon (Danielle). Her loving grandchild­ren Rebecca, Matthew and Meghan Frizzell, Douglas, Sara and Daniel O’brien, Mandy Van de Bulk and Adam White, Catherine, William and Olivia Tee, Martina Dredge, Patrick and Connor O’brien, Kyle and Shannon O’brien, Emily and Victoria O’brien. Great-grandchild­ren Robert Melvin, Rachel and Taylor Butler, Grace, Jane and Amy O’brien, Noah Van de Bulk, Hannah and Mason White, Kane and Kate Dredge. Sisters-in-laws; Agnes Mulcahy, Gearldine Prim and Helen O’brien. Brothers-inlaw; Joseph Prim, Edward and Aloysius O’brien. As well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. Resting at Ryan’s Funeral Home, Bay Bulls, Saturday March 31st from 3 – 9 pm and Sunday, April 1, from 2 – 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial and Celebratio­n of New Life will be held at Immaculate Conception RC Church, Cape Broyle, Monday, April 2, 2018, at 11am. Interment to follow at Our Lady of the Cape RC Cemetery, Cape Broyle. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in memory of Catherine O’brien to the Alzheimer’s Society of Newfoundla­nd and Labrador.
