Robin Hood Bay landfill fire sends three to hospital Tuesday evening

Three people were taken to hospital early Tuesday evening to be treated for smoke inhalation following a fire at the Robin Hood Bay Landfill. The three people were workers at the landfill.

Three ambulances were on site to bring the individual­s to the hospital.

The St. John’s Regional Fire Department was also on scene shortly after 6:30 p.m. trying to extinguish the blaze.

At press time, it was not yet known how serious the injuries are.
