The St. John’s Municipal Council adopted St. John’s Municipal Plan Amendment Number 145, 2018, and St. John’s Development Regulations Amendment Number 675, 2018, on April 9, 2018, and hereby gives notice of its intent to seek registration of the amendments from the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Environment in accordance with the Urban and Rural Planning Act. The effect of the Municipal Plan amendment would be a text amendment to allow the outdoor storage of pipe and related facilities in the Rural Land Use District.
The effect of the Development Regulations amendment would be a text amendment to allow a Pipe Storage Yard as a Discretionary Use in the Rural (R) Zone and to add the definition of Pipe Storage Yard to the Development Regulations.
The amendments are in reference to an application by 75579 Newfoundland and Labrador Inc. to develop a Pipe Storage Yard at 650 Fowler’s Road. In conjunction with the above amendments, the City is advertising the development of a Pipe Storage Yard as a Discretionary Use.
All written submissions received will become a matter of public record. If no written objections to the amendments are received by the deadline noted, the public hearing for these amendments may be cancelled by the City in accordance with the provisions of the Urban and Rural Planning Act.
