The Francophone Association choir, La Rose des Vents, invites you to their spring concert at the Centre des Grands-vents, 65 Ridge Rd. The choir will offer up some beautiful sacred pieces before moving on to a set of robust drinking songs, and you’ll even have a chance to join in! La Rose des Vents is conducted by Claire Wilkshire, with accompanist David Green and special guest Étienne Gendron on percussion. There’s a cash bar and post-concert reception. Tickets ($18/$14) will be available at the door if there are any left — but to be safe, you can ask a choir member, stop by the Francophone Association office or go online at acfsj.ca. The City of St. John’s, in partnership with the MMSB and MUN Botanical Garden, are offering free backyard composting information sessions to residents of St. John’s. This approximately one-hour session is at MUN Botanical Garden. You can purchase a standard compost bin for $50 or a tumbler bin for $75 (HST included). These sessions are for St. John’s residents only. You can attend a free backyard composting information session without registering — just show up. If you purchase a bin after the session, cash will be the only method of payment. Receipts will be provided.
