Man pleads not guilty to 40 charges against females
A Bay Bulls man pleaded not guilty in provincial court Monday to more than 40 charges against two females, ranging from touching a child for a sexual purpose to criminal harassment.
Robert Lundrigan is also accused of choking one of the females with his hands, sexual assault, forcible confinement, uttering threats, 26 counts of assault and four counts of assaulting one of the females with a weapon, including a dollhouse, a guitar string, a guitar and a cup.
The incidents are alleged to have happened in a number of communities between 2008 and 2017.
Lundrigan, 44, was arrested last fall and released on bail Nov. 6 after securing a $1,000 surety. He is on a number of conditions, including that he have no contact with the females and that he abide by a curfew.
He was previously represented by lawyer Ellen O’gorman, who filed an application to be removed as his lawyer in March, citing a breakdown in the client-solicitor relationship. O’gorman indicated at that time Lundrigan wanted a new lawyer, and on Monday he was represented by Adam Ronan.
Ronan entered not guilty pleas on Lundrigan’s behalf to all charges, and told the court he needed time to consult with his client before officially electing a trial in Newfoundland and Labrador provincial or Supreme Court.
