Ongoing NSO welcomes The Tenors
The Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra (NSO) is happy to announce that tickets are on sale now for the NSO Exxonmobil Big Ticket, the NSO’S annual fundraiser. The concert will take place on Oct. 11 at Mile One Centre and will feature The Tenors, backed by the NSO. A decade after forming in their native Canada, The Tenors are an international success story. With their robust singing and seamless blend of classical and contemporary pop textures, Victor Micallef, Clifton Murray and Fraser Walters have scored multiplatinum sales, performed for the likes of Oprah Winfrey and Queen Elizabeth II, and shared stages with superstars such as Paul Mccartney and Justin Bieber. Art Ongoing Brushes with Nature
An exhibition of works by Monday’s Company at Memorial University Botanical Garden, 306 Mt. Scio Rd. Monday’s Company have been painting with Diana Dabinett for 25 years. WEDNESDAY, JUNE 13 Children Ongoing Fluvarium’s Summer Nature Camps
Registration is now open for The Fluvarium’s summer nature camps, designed to capture the interest and the imagination of young campers ages six through 12. Fish on Long Pond, swim at the Aquarena, relax in the forest and explore nature through engaging and thought-provoking programs. Camp cost is $165 (plus HST) and campers will be provided with a T-shirt. Limited space is available, and some weeks fill fast, so call 754-3474 to register.

Fish Fry at The Fluvarium
Save the date: on July 31 our Red Seal chef, Antoine Harding, will prepare a delicious three course fish dinner for the Fluvarium’s annual Fish Fry Fundraiser. The 42nd annual Lobster Dinner at The Kirk (St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 76 Queen’s Rd.) is a popular dinner that always sells quickly. Takeout orders can be picked up any time after 4:30 p.m. The eat-in big feast in the hall is at 7 p.m. Cost is $60. Included are two cooked and split Newfoundland lobsters, assorted salads, buns and trifle for dessert. 2018 marks the 100th anniversary of the SS Florizel disaster which is an important part of Newfoundland history.
