What a night for Pittman; Dodgers pull off big comeback

-

Nick Pittman had a game for the ages in St. John’s senior men’s softball Thursday night.

At Lions Park, in an 8-5 Kelly’s Pub Junior Canadians win over The Bigs, Pittman collected two hits with a double and two-run home run, knocked in three runs, scored a pair himself and for good measure pitched the win on a one-hitter with 10 strikeouts. Pittman (6.2IP, 0R, 1H, 1BB, 10K) came on in relief of Eric Healey (0.1IP, 5R, 4H, 2BB, 0K), who was roughed up in the start. Mike Noftall (4IP, 6R, 11H, 1BB, 3K) started and took the loss. Mark Power (2IP, 2R, 2H, 2BB, 4K) came on in relief.

Brent Hatfield, Gerald Wall, Peter Kavanagh and Tyler Wall all had two hits for the winners.

In another game, 3 Cheers Pub Bud Light Dodgers outscored NTV Hitmen 11-10 on Doug Marshall’s walk-off three-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning. Trailing 10-4 heading into the bottom half of the seventh, the Dodgers got solo home runs from Jason Hill and Kyle Ezekiel, and a run-scoring triple from Eddie Hefferan. Hill (3IP, 6R, 7H, 2BB, 3K) pitched the win in relief of starter Colin Walsh (4IP, 4R, 7H, 2BB, 3K). Robbie Greene (2.2IP, 8R, 9H, 1BB, 5K) was tagged with the loss. He relieved Lee Cose (4IP, 3R, 6H, 3BB, 6K), who started the game.

Hefferan and Ezekiel both had three hits for the winners. Hill, Walsh and Logan Power all had a pair. Justin Gill and Danny Mullins both had three hits in a losing cause, and both homered.
