RCA Theatre/lspu Hall unveil new logo and coming season
The RCA Theatre Company and LSPU Hall unveiled their new logo and launched the RCA Theatre Company’s 2018/2019 season Tuesday morning in the Cox & Palmer Second Space at LSPU Hall in St. John’s
The RCA Theatre Company’s intention is to put new play development first with a mission to promote new theatrical work in Newfoundland and Labrador.
“We remain strongly committed to our historical practice, but must consider our place in the current community and continue to inspire artists and audience to take an active role in building and reflecting our dynamic culture,” said Nicole Rousseau, RCA’S artistic director. “This is the time to reimagine and re-visit the dream for this organization.”
The evolved logo, designed by Ray agency of St. John’s, is meant to better highlight the shared mission of the RCA Theatre Company and the Hall, in actively supporting the creation and performance of new theatre in Newfoundland and Labrador.
“The logo reflects the shared mission of the Hall and RCA Theatre Company and its historical connection to architecturally iconic LSPU Hall,” Rousseau said. “The Hall and RCA Theatre Company are committed to supporting the performing arts in our province.”
Playwrights of this seasons program were present at the launch — excluding Adrian Yearwood who sent a video — to read excerpts of their work.
