In answer to your columnist’s question

-

Editor: I wish to comment on Martha Muzychka’s column of June 28th, the headline of which asks “What part of putting kids in cages is right?” Muzychka provides no way to answer her question directly so therefore I am writing this letter to the editor to provide her with an answer.

The question is in reference to U.S. President Donald Trump’s legitimate enforcement of his country’s laws on illegal invaders of his country’s southern border. As president, Trump has the right and duty to jail anyone crossing into the United States illegally. This is clearly not just a real national security concern, but also a matter of the United States being able to control migration numbers into its territory.

I wish our own feeble federal government was as strong as is President Trump in protecting our own southern border from the illegal invaders into our own country. It seems to me once these phony refugees get into Canada, very few if any are actually ever deported. Instead, many are criminals who prey upon the Canadian population. Several nasty examples have floated up in our own court system in this province.

Muzychka’s question is typical of a leftist ideologue. Give me a break! Go down to any provincial court youth court and they are caging youths nearly every day. Will the Marxist lefties be picketing our courts now? The illegal invaders of the United States have placed themselves and their “kids” at risk of jailing under the laws of the United States. Not everyone in the world has a right to live in the United States, nor Canada for that matter.

Once “caged” these migrants are treated humanely, have access to health care, legal advice, and are well fed and provided for pending resolution of their refugee claims in independent U.S. courts.

President Trump is acting ethically, morally, effectively, and legally in jailing or “caging” anyone who enters the United States illegally.

Social justice warriors are a joke! I believe I have answered Muzychka’s question.
