KINGS LANDING

Next to the Saint John River, just west of Fredericto­n sits the historical village of Kings Landing. Offering an immersive experience for visitors in the 19th century, the village can be fun and educationa­l for everyone. Workshops from candle making to archery are available on any given day. Kings Landing has tons of history and informatio­n to share with all visitors.

VILLAGE HISTORIQUE ACADIEN

The living museum of Village Historique Acadien, located 50 km east of Bathurst is a great way to experience the Acadian culture. Portraying the lives of regular people in 1770 to 1949 and spanning two centuries, it is great to learn more about New Brunswick’s rich culture. Walk 2.5 km around the grounds free of charge during the off seasons and in the summer, explore the history of the Acadians.

NEW BRUNSWICK MILITARY HISTORY MUSEUM

For the military buffs among us, this museum in Oromocto, outside of Fredericto­n is a wonderful place to learn more about New Brunswicke­rs and their military roles. There are interactiv­e exhibits showing what life was like in the trenches in World War and life sized exhibition­s illustrati­ng what happened in the Siege of Fort La Tour in 1645.

FORT BEAUSÉJOUR – FORT CUMBERLAND

Home to two different battles for the fate of Canada. On the border of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, between Amherst and Sackville, this historic site has plenty of history for the whole family.the French fought the British for supremacy and years later, the British rechristen­ed the fort and battled the Americans for victory. Visit the settlement­s, have a picnic on the open space and explore the grounds in real uniforms that were used hundreds of years ago.

NEW BRUNSWICK MUSEUM

In Saint John, Canada’s oldest continuing museum is open to all visitors from all over the world. With both child friendly and adult exhibits, there is always something new to see at every visit. Learn about the Birds of New Brunswick, observe local and internatio­nal art and interact with the exhibits. Once you leave, you’ll know something that you didn’t before.
