Birding at Voisey’s Brook Park with Nature NL — Come out Saturday July 14 at 10am for a birding hike on the Voisey’s Brook Park conservati­on trails in The Town of Portugal Cove - St. Philip’s. Osprey, Red Crossbill, Woodpecker­s, Jays, and Warblers have all been sighted in this recently developed park space. Meet at the main parking area off Indian Meal Line, located on the park map: (https://www. grandconco­urse.ca/map/geopdf/ Vbp.pdf). The walk will be about 2 hours on easy, accessible gravel trails and is open to everyone no matter what birding level. Please bring binoculars if you have them and dress appropriat­ely for the weather. Rain date will be Sunday July 15, same time and location. The Bay Roberts Cultural Foundation is hosting the much-loved summer event, Bazaar at the Bay Arena, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m on Saturday, July 21. Arts, crafts, books, baked goods, toys, bath and beauty products and more will be made available by over 70 vendors. Hot dogs, homemade soup and freshly cooked toutons will be available. Byron Hierlihy will be on site offering pony rides for children. 50-50 tickets and tickets on a donated product will also be on sale. Admission is $3.00. The City of St. John’s, in partnershi­p with the MMSB and MUN Botanical Garden, is offering a free backyard composting informatio­n session to residents of St. John’s at MUN Botanical Garden, 306 Mount Scio Rd. Workshops are free and no registrati­on is required. St. John’s residents who have attended the one-hour session can purchase bins from the City of St. John’s. The Court of Appeal of Newfoundla­nd and Labrador’s Legal Assistance Clinic offers assistance to people without a lawyer who wish to have some legal advice about their appeal. Available to any person who does not have a lawyer and who has a case before the Court of Appeal or who is considerin­g appealing a judgment or decision to the Court of Appeal.
