RNC make arrest in St. John’s robbery investigation
Police have arrested a man in connection with a robbery inside an apartment building on Blackmarsh Road Saturday around suppertime.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary had asked for the public’s help to identify the man shown in a security photo.
On Saturday, about 5 p.m. police responded the call from a woman who reported that a man approached her inside the apartment building and stole an undisclosed quantity of cash and personal belongings.
The robber fled on foot prior to police arrival. He was described as 5-5, slim, and less than 35 years of age. He was wearing a black jacket with red and white detailing, jeans, a black Toronto Raptors T-shirt, and a black and red Toronto Raptors ball cap.
Sunday morning the RNC arrested a 32-year-old man from St. John’s in relation to the investigation.
The man is in custody and will appear in provincial court in St. John’s Monday to face a charge of robbery.
