Corrected voter information cards in mail for Windsor Lake byelection

-

A corrected version of the voter information card for Windsor Lake is being circulated by Elections Newfoundland and Labrador. The new cards were mailed Friday and should be received by electors in the next day or so, Elections NL stated in a news release. Previously mailed cards, which were yellow, contained an error in the day of the week for byelection day. Instead of Tuesday, Sept. 20, the card should have read Thursday, Sept. 20.

The new cards are green to distinguish them from the previous version and will be sent to every person who is on the voters list in the district. The voter information cards provide details on advance poll and byelection day voting locations, special ballot voting, and office hours and contact information for the district returning office and Elections Newfoundland and Labrador.

Electors who are not on the voters list can be added until 8 p.m. Saturday.

Those who are not on the voters list on the advance polling days or on byelection day can still vote, but will have to produce appropriate identification — which shows the elector’s name, address and signature — and complete an oath at the polls. Residents who do not receive a voter information card or who want more information can contact Elections Newfoundland and Labrador toll-free at 1-877-7297987 or visit the Elections Newfoundland and Labrador website at www.elections.gov.nl.ca.
