-

Emerald Health Therapeutics said it has been selected as an authorized cannabis supplier by the Newfoundland Liquor Corp. (NLC) to supply cannabis products to the NLC and serve the Newfoundland and Labrador adult-use market starting Oct. 17. “We’re proud to work with the NLC as a preferred licensed producer to serve Newfoundland and Labrador in the upcoming legal cannabis market,” Emerald CEP Chris Wagner stated in a news release. “This represents the third provincial agreement for our team and we expect to share additional supply updates in the future.” Emerald has previously announced supply agreements with the provinces of British Columbia and Ontario. As well, its commercial production facilities are ramping up in British Columbia and Quebec, and are prepared for the adult-use market, Wagner stated.

The company is focused on product innovation that will command high profit margins; differentiating its marketing strategy and securing significant supplies of safe, quality, low-cost cannabis, its CEO stated. Emerald is a licensed producer under Canada’s Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulations and produces and sells dried cannabis and cannabis oil for medical purposes. Emerald owns 50 per cent of Pure Sunfarms, which is converting a licensed existing 1.1-millionsquare-foot greenhouse in Delta, B.C., and is in commercial production.

It also owns Agro-biotech, a Quebec-based licensed cannabis grower with a 75,000-square-foot indoor facility and is planning to add a 500,000-square-foot greenhouse in Metro Vancouver.
