Eastern Health releases annual report
Eastern Health held its annual general meeting in St. John’s Thursday, where an overview of the organization’s performance for 2017-18 was provided.
It is the first fiscal year of Eastern Health’s strategic plan for 2017-20, “Lighting the Way: Navigating Together.”
“Our 2017-18 report on performance is a testament of how Eastern Health is increasingly working to provide high-quality and accessible health-care programs and services to the people in the eastern region and across our province,” said Leslie O’reilly, chair of the board of trustees.
“We are committed to continue transforming health care delivery through innovation, enhancing practices, improving patient and client experiences across the continuum, and cultivating meaningful partnerships — all of which contribute to achieving our goals as outlined in our strategic plan.”
The strategic plan outlines five priority areas against which Eastern Health’s performance is measured — access, quality and safety, population health, healthy workplace and sustainability.
Eastern Health president and CEO David Diamond said the achievements over the course of 2017-18 would not have been possible without the skills and dedication of innovative, competent and compassionate employees, physicians and managers.
“While it is important to celebrate the milestones we have reached to date, we acknowledge that there is even more that can be done to further enhance the services that we provide,” he said. “Together with our staff and volunteers, I look forward to continuing our journey over the next year to deliver on our collective vision of healthy people, healthy communities.”
