Ongoing CNIB 50-50 Draw

The Canadian National Institute for the Blind 50-50 draw is back for another year. All proceeds support the CNIB Foundation in this province. Tickets are $5 each and the grand prize winner could walk away with up to $5,000. Ticket draw date is Nov. 23. For tickets, call 754-1180.

Peter Macdonald Production­s presents “Trummp the Musical” from Oct. 4-6 at the St. John’s Arts and Culture Centre. Suzy and Max are interns at the White House, Republican­s through and through. But after spending a day there, they see the chaos and realize change has to happen. Written by Spencer Fitzgerald and Peter A. The lights are out and everyone is home! “Black Comedy” by Peter Shaffer is a farce that is played in the dark, with the lights full on. It’s the Chinese convention of reversing

SJRFD Open House

The St. John’s Regional Fire Department is hosting an open house at the West End, Mount Pearl and Paradise fire stations. Members of the SJFRD invite you to visit any of these stations from 2-5 p.m. Saturday. This will commence the kickoff of Fire Prevention Week, Oct. 7-13. There will be a variety of firefighti­ng equipment on display for public viewing in addition to providing a great opportunit­y for the public to speak with firefighte­rs, who will be more than happy to offer some safety tips.
