Passed away peace­fully on Oc­to­ber 10, 2018, at the Health Sci­ences Cen­tre fol­low­ing a coura­geous bat­tle with car­dio­vas­cu­lar dis­ease, Loretta Quinlan, age 86 years, of Kel­li­grews, CBS (for­merly of Bell Is­land), NL. Pre­de­ceased by her hus­band James Quinlan (1992), her par­ents, Maud and Henry Mccarthy, and sis­ters-in-law Chris­tine Quinlan and Mary Smith. Leav­ing to mourn and cel­e­brate her life and unique char­ac­ter: daugh­ter and son-in­law, Mary and Vin­cent Basha; son and daugh­ter-in-law, Gary and Gail (Gul­lage); grand­chil­dren: Paul Basha (Candice Udle), Michael Quinlan (Crys­tal Haggett), Ja­nine Basha (Os­car Prescesky), Sean Quinlan (Michelle Ben­son), Steven Quinlan; great-grand­child Colton Basha, who will dearly miss his “grand­nanny”; her de­voted sib­lings and their fam­i­lies: Florence Bick­ford (Eneas, de­ceased), Doreen Dwyer (Martin), Kevin Mccarthy (Lor­raine); spe­cial sis­ter-in-law, Pa­tri­cia Atkins (Sam); spe­cial neigh­bors, Marilyn and Paddy Ho­gan; her Quinlan sis­ters-in-law: Win­nie (Leonard, de­ceased), Ella (Harold, de­ceased), Mary Cor­bett (Joe), Dorothy Wake­ham (Kevin); spe­cial cousin Betty Trem­blett; a large cir­cle of nieces and neph­ews, great­nieces and great-neph­ews and spe­cial cousins from the Mccarthy, Coombs, Wall and An­drews fam­i­lies. We would like to ex­tend our deep­est grat­i­tude to the Staff of 5SA, Health Sci­ences Cen­tre. Rest­ing at Hickey’s Funeral Home, Kel­li­grews on Satur­day & Sun­day from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. & 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Mass of Chris­tian Burial will take place from St. Ed­ward’s Church, Kel­li­grews, on Mon­day, Oc­to­ber 15, 2018 at 1 p.m. In­ter­ment in St. Ed­ward’s Ceme­tery, Kel­li­grews.
