Government House Events Calendar

On Saturday, Oct. 20 at 5 p.m. Lt.-gov. Judy Foote, and His Honour Howard Foote, will attend the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary’s Class of 2018 graduation parade and swearing-in ceremony at The Field House, Memorial University. Her Honour, as Honorary Chief of Police of the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary, will be the reviewing officer and will assist in the presentation of breast shields to 15 new police constables.

On Sunday, Oct. 21 at 11 a.m. Their Honours will attend the “Ours” Opera Brunch at The Merchant Tavern, 291 Water St., St. John’s.

On Thursday, Oct. 25 at 6:30 p.m. Her Honour, Honorary Patron of the Canadian Red Cross, NL Division, and His Honour will attend the Canadian Red Cross Power of Humanity Awards dinner at the Delta St. John’s. Her Honour will present the 2018 Humanitarian of the Year Award and the 2018 Young Humanitarian of the Year Award.

On Friday, Oct. 26 at 9:30 a.m. Their Honours will receive, at Government House, the Remembrance Committee NL Provincial Command, Royal Canadian Legion. Her Honour will be presented with the first poppy and will sign a proclamation launching the 2018 Poppy Campaign. At 2 p.m. Their Honours will attend the Prayer Shawl Ministry ceremony honouring the service given by veterans at the Heritage United Church in Musgravetown.
