It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Diane (Skehans) King of Bell Island, age 71, at the HSC on November 4, 2018, following a lengthy illness. She is predecease­d by parents, William and Nina Skehans; brothers Ralph and William; and sister Vivian Howell. Leaving to mourn are her devoted and loving husband, Lindsay, of 50 years; her treasured son Terry; and her precious granddaugh­ter Jessica; as well as sisters: Joan Parsons (Sidney), Carol Kitchen (Wince deceased), Irene Eveleigh (Malcolm), Jean Kearley (Ray); brothers: John (Sally) and Terry (Cynthia); and sister-in-law, Margaret Skehans. She also leaves to mourn the King family and numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends with whom she shared many special memories. The support received from her homecare workers provided her the care, attention, and companions­hip that allowed her to remain at home; special thanks to Marjorie Hutchings for her unconditio­nal dedication, kindness, and care over the years. The family is eternally grateful for the personal care and profession­al service provided by the Dr. W. Templeman HCC, the Health Sciences Centre, Fewer’s Ambulance Service, and Pendergast’s Funeral Home. Visitation at Pendergast’s Funeral Home on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2:00 – 9:00; Funeral Mass at St. Michael’s R. C. Church on Friday, Nov. 9 at 2:00. Cremation to follow with burial at the Jackson United Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jackson United Church Fund, Bell Island, or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. “Forever in our hearts”
