KELLY (nee Browne) Frances M. “Fran”

-

85, De Pere, Wisconsin

Passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 1st, 2018. She was born January 16, 1933 in St. John’s, Newfoundland to the late Jack and Ellen (Kennedy) Browne. She married Donald J. Kelly of Philadelphia, PA on October 19th, 1957. Donald was a member of the U.S Air Force and the family enjoyed the military life and the adventures it brought from Alaska to Massachusetts. Fran enjoyed her work at the Base Exchange at the various duty stations and worked in accounting after Don left the Air Force. They enjoyed bowling, outdoors and time with friends. Fran loved her family and always put their needs ahead of hers. She was an advocate for rescue animals and donated to their causes whenever she could. Her kitty “Twitter” was a rescue cat and one of the great joys in her life. Fran loved her Playstation too. Yup, 85 playing Playstation. Spiro and Harry Potter were her favorites. Fran is survived by her sons and her daughter-in-law who she loved like a daughter, Dan and Marty (Sharon) and one grandson Brendon as well as her sister Barbara (Harold) Mason and Joe (Jean) Browne. Also many wonderful nieces and nephews. Her niece Christine in Canada was an especially good friend. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald, parents Jack and Ellen Browne, sisters Patsy (Lorne) Hynes and Mary (Murphy), brothers Edward (Doreen), Patrick (Kay), John (Eileen) and William Browne. A private memorial service was held on Tuesday, November 6th at 2 pm at Our Lady of Lourdes Family Parish in De Pere, Wisconsin. Fran’s family would like to thank the nurses on the 4th floor at Bellin Hospital for the genuine care and compassion they showed Fran when she needed it most. Fran lived her life without pretense and with a true compassion for the innocent and most vulnerable among us. She is an unselfish inspiration that those closest to her will truly miss.
