Lowe’s donates to seven organizations in Newfoundland

Groups will collectively receive more than $18,000

Lowe’s Canada is proud to announce that its national Lowe’s Canada Heroes campaign has raised a total of $1.1 million.

Throughout September, every Lowe’s, RONA, and Reno-depot corporate store in the country collected donations to help local non-profit organizations or public schools of their choosing fulfil their missions or carry out specific projects. Lowe’s Canada matched 50 per cent of all funds raised through the in-store campaign, up to a maximum of $2,000 per store. All funds raised in-store, along with matching corporate donations, are being donated to more than 260 community organizations. In Newfoundland, seven organizations will collectively receive over $18,000.

“We are grateful that our employees and customers across the country came together again this year to help people love where they live,” said Jean-sébastien Lamoureux, Senior Vice-president, Communications, Public Affairs and Compliance at Lowe’s Canada. Many thanks to everyone who made this year’s campaign an even bigger success.” Each RONA store selected a charity of its choice to receive funds raised.

Newfoundland organizations that received funds included: The Angel Fund Corporation 61081, Special Olympics, School Lunch Association, The Gathering Place, Children’s Wish Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society, Torbay Lions Club.
