Sister Josephine Kennedy

-

The Sutton and Kennedy Families wish to express a sincere thank you to all who supported us on the passing of our beloved sister and aunt, Sister Josephine Kennedy. We acknowledge your presence at the Wake and Mass of Christian Burial, your messages of condolences, phone calls, mass offerings, flowers and all other gestures of kindness.

A heartfelt thank you to the Sisters of the Presentation Congregation for their love and support as so many of Sister Josephine’s friends came together to share wonderful memories and bid a final farewell to a truly special person.

We wish to thank Monsignor Francis Puddister and Father Frank Slattery, celebrants of the Liturgy. We appreciate all of the words kindly expressed in the Homily. We also wish to thank Peter Haley and Jacinta Graham, whose beautiful singing made the event special for family and loved ones.

It seemed at times that Sister Josephine had an almost impossible number of former students, as she would run into them anywhere and everywhere. We would like to thank all of those students who came to share their memories of her—we enjoyed hearing them immensely.

We wish to give a very special thank you to the nursing staff at the Nano Nagle floor nursing unit, and to Dr. Sylvia Mouland. The family will always remember the love and care shown to Sister Josephine over her years there.

Jo will be fondly remembered for her love of Jeopardy, Carbonear, white wine and Progressive Conservatism, and for her hatred of spinach, peanut butter and tea. May she rest in peace. The Sutton and Kennedy Families
