Whaddayat: The Live Comedy Gameshow is coming to The Rec Room. Two contestant­s, with the aid of their comedian partner, play Newfoundla­nd trivia-themed games. The two winners from each game play off in a final speed-round at the end of the night to win the grand prize. Free Admission. Contestant­s will be chosen by raffle. Hosted by Evan Mercer. “Over The Narrows And Into History” by Spirit of Newfoundla­nd Production­s takes you on the first ever non-stop transatlan­tic flight 100 years ago by adventurer­s Alcock and Brown. This inaugural flight through wind, rain, fog, snow and communicat­ion breakdowns earned Newfoundla­nd and Labrador a firm place in aviation history. You'll be retracing their flight path to Clifton Ireland in our modern day made-up Spirit Airlines. On Oct. 3 at 6:30 p.m., enjoy an evening of laughs and a three-course meal, and help us feed our neighbours at Bridges to Hope Food Aid Centre. The 4th annual St. John's Short Play Festival is the biggest one yet. Twenty-six production­s over three weeks, with two dates dedicated to young people's theatre. Fall storytime registrati­on

Fall is on its way, and for the Marjorie Mews Public Library, that means story time! We will be offering two types of story times this fall. Baby Time on Tuesdays for children under age one (with caregivers) and Family Story Times on Wednesdays or Fridays for infants and children up to age five (with caregivers). These sessions are for six weeks starting the week of Oct. 8. For more informatio­n, call 737-3020. Registrati­on starts at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 20. We cannot take early registrati­ons.

This year marks the 50th anniversar­y of the MUN History Society. Memorial Univerity alumni and history graduates are all invited in helping to celebrate the History Society. This is a 19-plus event with drinks and food provided, taking place from 5-8 p.m. in Room 2001 of the University Centre. All are welcome.
