Player signings are coming fast and furious for the St. John’s Edge.

On Thursday, for the fourth time in a week, the National Basketball League of Canada announced a new addition to the roster.

The latest newcomer is Ryan Richardson, a product of Weber State University in Utah.

He becomes the seventh player on the Edge’s 201920 roster

A 6-4, 195-pound wing from Chandler, Ariz., Richardson is in his second professional season.

In 2018-19 he played for the Dutch Windmills, a team in the top professional league in the Netherlands, averaging 13,8 points per game and shooting better than 38 per cent from beyond the three-point line.

Before that, Richardson played four years at Weber State, starting 83 of the Wildcats’

93 games over his last three seasons. As a senior, he was named to the Big Sky All-conference team as a senior, averaging better than 13.5 points per outing. He finished his college career with the fifth-most three-pointers made (235) in Weber State history.

“Ryan was a guy that we targeted early on because of his shooting ability,” said Edge head coach Steve Marcus in a team release. “With the roster we are putting together, shooting was something we needed. Ryan fills that void for us.”

St. John’s has already announced the signings of four other newcomers, Americans Cane Broom, Jesse Jones and Montay Brandon, and Canadian Cassidy Ryan.

The Edge’s first roster revelations of the fall were about the return of Canadians Junior Cadougan and Murphy Burnatowski.

The Edge open their new season on the road Dec. 27 against the defending champion Moncton Magic. The team’s first home game at Mile One Centre is Jan. 7.
