6:45 p.m. The Road to Zero Waste in Newfoundland
This accessible dialogue hosted by Zero Waste Canada – NL Chapter and Memorial University is open to all who make waste, and wish to learn about what individuals, government, nonprofits, and academia are already doing to reduce waste in our province. With representatives from all these sectors, we'll discuss how we can work together to overcome the challenges, and take advantage of the opportunities, to reduce waste even further. After the event, we'll produce a series of reports for the wider community describing new ways of engaging with zero waste in our province.

It is the spookiest night of the year as the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra presents its first ever Hallowe'en Spooktacular. A perfect night for the whole family. Featuring music from Harry Potter, classic Hallowe'en movies and other spooky tunes. It will be a night to remember, with costumes, fun and games, and amazing music. Put on your best Halloween costume and join Sci-fi on the Rock at The Rooms to celebrate all that's scary, sparkly or geeky. Enjoy a creepy cocktail and listen to some spooky music while visiting the temporary display Fantastical Threads: Costumes at The Rooms. Chat with the talented designers about their creations, ranging from queens to robots. Then let them judge you at our costume contest, and hope you go home with a prize. Bully Beware
Tired of being bullied or having your child bullied? You are not alone. The Mount Pearl School of Martial Arts has a well-structured program to arm you and/or your child with the know-how and techniques to recognize, defuse and defend yourself against bullying. We teach students to be prepared and “ARMED” (Aware, Ready, Manoeuvre, Execute, Defend) should they encounter bullies. Our Bully Beware program runs Wednesday and Sunday evenings at O'donel High School and is only one element of our well-structured martial arts program. Gain self-confidence through self-defence.
