It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mark Piercey with his wife and daughters by his side at the Pte. Josiah Squibb Memorial Pavillion, Carbonear on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at the age of 93. He leaves with love and cherished memories, his wife of 60 years, Eloise (nee Green), their two daughters Janet Bradshaw (Scott Schilleref­f) and Jennifer Langdon (Jason), three granddaugh­ters, Leslie Bradshaw (Kate Parsons), Andrea Bradshaw (Corey James) and Rachael Langdon, brother-in-law Allan Green (Nancy), nieces Heather Noble (Kerry), Kim Green (Eric Hurlburt) and Julie Green and nephews Steve Green (Jill) and David Burry (Aoife). Mark is predecease­d by his parents Robert and Rachael Jane of New Perlican, his brother Leander, sister Elizabeth Burry and brother-in law Edward Burry of Gander, former son-in-law Gary Bradshaw as well as parents-in-law James (Jimmy) and Maud Green of Winterton. Mark was an avid woodsman and handyman. He enjoyed fixing things and building model boats. In the woods, it was hard for even a younger man to keep up with his pace. He loved to listen to traditiona­l Newfoundla­nd music and was always eager to have a scuff. At Mark’s request, cremation has taken place. Relatives and friends may visit the family at Green’s Funeral Home in Winterton on Saturday, November 23rd 2:00 – 4:00 PM and 7:00 – 9:00 PM and Sunday, November 24th 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM. A service will be held at Green’s Funeral Home on Sunday, November 24th at 2:00 PM followed by internment of the ashes at St. Luke’s Anglican Cemetary. Details of a reception to follow will be available at the Funeral Home.in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the St. Luke’s Anglican Church, Winterton.
