GUSHUE Mary Joseph (nee Macpherson)

Passed peacefully away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on Saturday, December 14th at the age of 91 years. Born in Highlands, NL, Mary was predecease­d by her parents, Charles and Elizabeth, brothers Michael, John, Roderick, Fintan, and sister Genevieve. Leaves to mourn her children Mary Elaine (Zain Ali Halif), Phillip (Michelle), and Paul, and recently deceased Larry (Alice) and Judy (Joe Barbuto), grandchild­ren Steven, Dawn and Ella, and great-grandchild­ren Nathan, Dominic and Keira. Sisterin-law to many, and aunt to many nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly. Also mourning Mary’s passing is a large circle of friends, including Jackie St. Croix, Nadine Ryan, Debbie Barry, Pastor Harold and Sybil Andrews, Ruth Laing, Faye and Richard Moody, Max and Gloria Crews, and all her friends at Victory Christian Center. Mary’s family would like to extend special thanks to the staff and residents of Hillcrest Estates in Mount Pearl, for making her so comfortabl­e and welcome over the last number of years. Special thanks to the Medical team at St. Clare’s, especially those on 4 West, for their care and compassion. Mary was a beautiful spirit who loved music, dancing, making others laugh, and loved every animal she ever had or met. She touched the lives and hearts of all who knew her, and she will be missed deeply. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, December 18th at Caul’s Funeral Home, Lemarchant Road from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. A celebratio­n of her life will be held at the Victory Christian Center in the near future, at a time and date to be announced. As per her wishes, cremation has taken place, and she will return to Highlands for final resting. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the SPCA. NOEL Shane William (King)

Passed suddenly away at his home in the presence of his loving fiancée on Saturday, December 14, 2019. Shane William Noel (King), aged 29 years. Predecease­d by his great grandmothe­r Mrs. King; father William King; baby brother Derek; grandparen­ts Helen and Louis Hanrahan. Leaving to mourn his parents Wilson and Agnes Noel; brother and best friend Jonathan Noel (Michelle); fiancée of 5 years Justine Thompson; his pride and joy his 2 children Kaylee and Bentley Murphy and their mother Crystal Murphy; brother William King; sisters Alicia Dillon (Rodney), Dawn Power and Kayla Moriarity; special aunt Debbie Hanrahan (Eugene); special uncle Francis Hanrahan; special cousin Jackie Hanrahan (Jason); grandmothe­r Patsy Butt as well as a large number of relatives and close friends. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, Lemarchant Road. Visitation on Wednesday from 1 p.m. – 9 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Friday, December 20th, 2019 at 2 p.m. from Caul’s Chapel. Cremation to follow. Flowers gratefully accepted or a donation may be made in his memory to the Janeway Foundation.
