June 2, 1929 – January 27, 2020 Lovingly surrounded by her family at St. Luke’s Homes on January 27, 2020, Emmie passed away as she lived, with grace and dignity. Predecease­d by her parents Edmund and Myrtle (Bendell) Mercer; her husband, Jack; her precious daughter, Cynthia; her brother, Allan; and many sistersin-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. Left to celebrate her life with treasured memories her sons: Doug, and Gary (Glenda); her daughter, Jackie Spracklin (Ron); her seven grandchild­ren: Matt Spracklin (Nikki), Kristen Mercer, Jennifer Spracklin, Jonathan Mercer, Danny Mercer, Jamie Mercer (Jessica), Stefanie Mercer (Alex Evans), and her only greatgrand­child, Jacob Mercer. Also left with treasured memories, her brothers Gordon and Gerald; her beloved sister, Jean Mercer (Dave), her cherished sister-inlaw, Beulah Mercer; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a large circle of friends. The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Colin Penny and ALL of the staff at St. Luke’s Homes with a special shout-out to “her girls” on Trinity Square. Your profession­alism and dedication will remain with us always. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue, on Thursday, January 30, 2020, from 11am-9pm. Funeral service to take place from Central United Church, Bay Roberts, on Friday, January 31, 2020 at 2:00pm, with interment to follow at Central United Church Cemetery. As expression­s of sympathy, a donation in Emmie’s memory to a charity of one’s choice is greatly appreciate­d.
