Eating Disorder Foundation of NL lunch and learn

Join us over lunch to learn about The Eating Disorder Foundation of NL, its programs and services, and more about eating disorders, including types, causes, complicati­ons and prognosis. Open to general public, including health profession­als, educators, community members and families (not open to clients with eating disorders). Lunch will be provided (sandwiches). Marking our special week

To mark Eating Disorder Awareness Week, the Confederat­ion Building in St. John’s, will be lit on Monday, February 3 in the Foundation’s colours of purple and gold. On the same day, there will be a flag raising at the building. During the full week, February 1 to 7, Cabot Tower in St. John’s will also be lit in the Foundation’s colours and both St. John’s City Hall and Government House will fly the EDFNL flag. A number of municipali­ties across the province will fly EDFNL flags and have proclamati­on signings to give official recognitio­n to the week.

MUN Wellness Fair

The Eating Disorder Foundation of NL will have an informatio­n booth at the Memorial University Wellness Fair to be held 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, February 6. Open to the general public, the event takes place in the Bruneau Centre for Research & Innovation.

EDFNL presents Emotion Focused Family Therapy Workshop for Profession­als

The workshop will feature Patricia Nash M.ED. (C.C.C), Counsellor, and Cathy Skinner, Program Coordinato­r. The event is open to profession­als who may work with children, youth and adults with eating disorders, including family physicians, psychiatri­sts, psychologi­sts, social workers, dietitians, nurses, guidance counsellor­s, teachers, first responders and graduate students in a related field.
